Why gluten-free?

It’s Wholesome believes everyone should be well fed. Including those choosing to enjoy a gluten-free diet. Going gluten-free though, is not an easy feat. Most gluten-free products are grainy, tasteless and contain GMO and low quality ingredients. “Why is this?” one might ask: for profit and mass production.

It’s Wholesome offers only the highest quality products with the highest quality ingredients. We greatly understand the importance of offering safe and user-friendly gluten-free products, which is why we offer an entire line of organic gluten-free and vegan baking mixes which are:

  • Gluten-free certified by CSA at less than 5pm (parts per million).
  • Produced in a 100% dedicated facility free from wheat and gluten (eggs, dairy, peanuts, and casein too)
  • Use only non-GMO ingredients and are Non-GMO Project Verified
  • Use only USDA organic ingredients and are certified organic
  • Add absolutely no dairy or casein to our products (unlike other gluten-free companies)
  • We make our products super easy to prepare: just add non-dairy milk and oil to most.

Why vegan?

It’s Wholesome is dedicated to offering 100% vegan products 100% of the time. Our products do not require eggs (or egg replacers) or dairy in preparation. Simply add: non-dairy milk and oil to most.

Not only are our products completely plant based, but we use only unrefined organic evaporated cane juice as a sweetener which is 100% vegan and no animals were harmed in the making of our products. We never test on animals and we use non-GMO ingredients which are great for the planet and great for your body.

“Why vegan?” you might ask? Using animal-free ingredients is better for the planet and better for our fellow animal friends. Vegan baking just tastes healthier, cleaner and more delicious. So, maybe the better question to ask is, “why not vegan?”

How is vegan baking different that traditional baking?
Vegan baking replaces common baking ingredients, such as eggs, dairy and cream-based butter with plant-based alternatives, such as soy or almond milk and non-dairy butter.

Is it difficult to make your products?

Making It’s Wholesome’s organic gluten-free and vegan baking mixes is easier than making traditional baking mixes.  Simply add non-dairy milk and oil, mix, bake, and serve! You can have a moist, decadent and delicious cake in the oven in less than ten minutes.

Why non-GMO?

To show our commitment to sustainability and 100% real food, It’s Wholesome recently underwent the highly rigorous process of becoming Non-GMO Project Verified.

What are GMO’s?

GMO’s are genetically modified organisms, or, a species that has been created in a laboratory by scientists. This process is new and it is not necessarily safe. In fact, there are 30 other countries in the world that have serious restrictions on the production of GMO’s. It is counter-intuitive that there is food out there that is not, in fact, originally grown from nature.

It’s Wholesome’s gluten-free and vegan baking mixes are fully compliant and verified by the Non-GMO Project Standard. We offer the only verified non-GMO, organic, gluten-free and vegan baking mixes in the world.

What is the Non-GMO Project?

The Non-GMO Project is a non-profit multi-stakeholder collaboration committed to preserving and building sources of non-GMO products, educating consumers, and providing verified non-GMO choices. Their shared belief is that everyone deserves an informed choice about whether or not to consume genetically modified organisms. We offer North America’s only third party verification and labeling for non-GMO food and products. They are committed to practical solutions and offer North America’s first consensus-based standard, third-party product verification program, and uniform seal for products made following best practices of GMO avoidance.
